I've got a pretty good knowledge of stereos and installs etc, but I want to be sure before i step in some deep shat with this one. I've got a 97 Bird and i want to replace the stock am/fm/cd with an aftermarket unit. I keep seeing this crap about 'delco-loc' or whatever and i want to know if puttin a new HU in there is going to be as simple as buying the wiring harness, dash adapter and the stereo and installing it all as i would in any other vehicle, or is there something crazy going to happen with the factory security etc? Thanks

the delco loc refers to the stock stereo. if you cut the power to it, it locks until you put the code in it. this is only inportant if you reinstall your stock radio. the only things required are a kit, harness adapter, and possibly an antenna adapter.

Thanks for getting back with me on that. Now looks like its time to start searching for another head unit...
