I was looking for a drive shaft at the driveshaftshop.com and they have a listing for a driveshaft and axles for a F-F-Ford 8.8 differential conversion. Any body hear of such an animal yet, and if so are they using the whole solid axle or are they just using the differential from the case???? :hmm:

There is one getting a 9inch that I know of out west here.......... The biggest issue is fabbing up mounts for the 4 link bars.:yup:
If you got the money any race car fab shop should be able to tackle that easily. Your probably looking at $3000-$4000 to just throw a # out there. I've heard NOTHING of a 8.8 being used though.

:eek2:Wow, thats a stupid amount of $$$$$$. I think they are using just the diff. Maybe 'cus theres more choice for gear ratio or somethin' . just kinda picked my interest a little, I can't see myself ever sellin' that one to my bride.

It cost to go fast!!!!:yup:
And you surely aren't going to put more than 700-750 through that independant sh_t!!!
After you break a couple of half shafts and pinion gears that money won't look to be that much.

I'm pretty sure they mean the IRS 8.8, not the straight axle.

Monaro Racing uses it when upgrading; only other unit that will fit a GTO/Monaro.
