big tire quandry

so when putting my 17x11's on my t/a oh so long ago, ihad to cut my bump stops off. has anyone else had to do this? i also wanted to lower my car about 1 in but now when i think about it, my tires/rims are way too big to accomodate for the springs. anyone else have this problem or is my car retarded?

i think if you roll the little lip on the fender and just grind the small lip on the bump stop you should be in good shape. 1 inch isnt much. so are your bump stops completely gone or just smaller?

unfortunately they are completely gone. but, i dont ever carry a heavy load in the back or anywhere for that matter. no passengers are allowed in the backseat :) so the back end should never bottom out. it just worries me and id like to lower it just a bit. people have told me its because i have the wrong offset on my rims.

i don't have issues... i did cut only 1/2 of my bumpstops, though.
I needed to massage the inner fender w/ a BFH.... as for the fender lip, i rolled it slightly inwards... but did not flare.... and I race with it... in the front... not much was done to fit the wide ones.
