The product I have used I always get from O'Reilley's. Its in a black, green and yellow can called "Bug and tar remover". Its much better than the Turtle wax product. I can post a picture of the can if that would help you any. :)

I think the trick for any tar and bug remover (and soap for that matter) to work well is not let the bugs sit on long and get it off as soon as possible.........

If you're letting it go a week or more you're asking for some dried / baked on --it........It will test anything out.

Wet drier sheets!! Then wash it off with car soap and wax. Very good at taking off lovebugs here in Florida.

You need a paint sealant or wax that would protect your paint better, like RejeX. That will spare you the need of having to apply other stuff that are not designed for paint finishes, albeit not being necessarily harmful.
Obviously you don't want to leave the bug splatter on your car too long.

Try the least aggressive method first. Laying a slightly damped warm towel over it, and letting it soak for a few minutes should to the trick.

On a side note
I have used RejeX. I use this exclusively on my Z06, on the wheels, and outside glass. On my wheels it protects nicely, and you can just rinse with water next time you need to clean your wheels. The windshield is also great, and the paint stays slick, and shiny. This product protects your paint for at least 6 months, and longer if garaged. Bugs don't stick too the paint, and makes it easier to clean bug splatters.
I don't have any business affiliation to RejeX, I just think it's a great product most people have not heard about it, but since it was introduced to me by Corvette owners, I must say it didn't disappoint

I've order from HERE (http://www.x-autoproducts.com/pages/forumpurchase.htm) (Corvette Forum discount. You can use that as a code if asked)
More info on RejeX HERE (http://www.x-autoproducts.com/pages/rejx_uses.htm) and Article (http://www.x-autoproducts.com/pdf/CarandDriver.pdf)
