Easy race killed by awesome COP!!!

Last Friday sept 23, I’m on a four lane highway and pulling up to a red light, when I notice in the lane next to me is a later year eclipse GSX.
The eclipse is decked out with euro lights, white/silver vinyl stripes, A pillar gauges, the car is just a complete ricer (see ricer definition in AAG reborn)

Well the guy in the eclipse starts revving, showing off the fart pipe and the blow off valve on the turbo. My gf starting giggling and says to me “you know your going to win, right?” “well of course”

So the light turns green, the eclipse nails the gas and I’m still not a WOT, doing as I always do(unless it’s a serious race). I tease them and ride along side of him, letting him think that he has a chance to win. He shifts into second at about 35 mph, I’m still in first, so I punch it breaking the tires loose, pulled ahead shifted into second at 50mph barking the tires hard skipping the speedometer right to 60mph. I pulled ahead easily putting some car lengths on the eclipse. I shut down at right away, the race was over.

We pull up to the next light, and flying out of the on-coming lane is a cop making a fast U-turn behind us with cherries a blazing. The cop tries pulling us both over but the eclipse driver doesn’t realize this and doesn’t pull over enough allow me to pull over. So after a 2 min dance of, where to pull the cars over at, the cop finally gets out and walks up to my car first.

This is the dialogue with the cop.

Officer- license and insurance please (smiling ear to ear when talking)
Me- yes sir
Officer- do you know why I pulled you over?
Me- I assume it looked like we were racing, when I’m just trying to get my GF home quickly since its late.
Officer- I clocked you at 55 in a 35, is your record clean?
Me- yes it is sir
Officer-hold tight while I check your record, don’t worry I’m not going to ticket you.

Cop goes to the eclipse grabs his info, then runs our tags in his car. The officer walks back up to my.

Officer- before I give you your license back, your car sounds great! Do you have some work done to it?
Me- yes sir, that is why I wouldn’t race a 4 banger eclipse.
Officer- laughs, well you won, now take a hike before I quit being nice.
Me- yes sir, have a great night officer.


We pull away, and my gf slaps me in the arm while giggling, and says “you realize you just got off lucky? If he ticketed you, I would have kicked your ass”

Just a harmless fun night of racing.

I've been pulled over several times for speeding. Never gotten a ticket yet.

Got pulled over once for getting Squirelly, The cop pulled me over and asked "Are you just cleaning out your filter" I just nodded and said yes sir. Then he told me to be careful and have a good day.

For the most part cops are pretty cool. They mostly just want to see who is driving.

And by the way my wife loves going fast.

This actually does happen, here is my story. I was at this house with my friends and this guy decides to race in his sports bike against a 01 Cobra with modifications. He gives him a head start to kind of balance it out and he still catches up. They decide to do it again but right before they floor It, I notice a cop car from a distant at an intersection. Well they didn't see it and begin to race; the cop immediately makes a turn into our direction to pull over the two individuals who were racing. When they pull over the officer says, "Who won?"

To make the story short, they had some small talk about how bikes are fun and he rides too and says to keep it cool because there are a lot out in duty tonight since the Ontario Street Races are underway. My friend on the bike has his license suspended and was under the influence. What a lucky son-of-a-gun.

I wish more cops in Texas were that cool. I had a state trooper in Abilene pull me over for "excessive accleration" after doing a U-turn. The second trooper that stopped told me I needed to "get that noise checked out". I didn't get a ticket, but I didn't feel they pulled me over for anything more than relief of boredom. The only reason I accelerated abnormally, was the really big truck behind me. Oh well.

Im a cop in Philly Pa.
When I first started 10yrs ago,I worked in a district were they would drag race on the weekends all the time.Front street as every1 knew it.We had a few 1993 or 94s Crown vics with the 5.0ltr H.O. police interceptors still hanging around.I have to say for a big car they were quick and handled great.We would get calls and I would show up and scare every1 away...hehehehe...never wrote any tickets unless you were a dick.When I was working in plain clothes my partner and I would set up and watch the races...Then the marked units would come by,every1 would run except us and some FNG (f'ing new guy)would try to car stop us.....All the good times ended when the highway patrol and traffic cops got together and stop the races one night blocking every1 in and wrote like 300 tickets just for watching and towed a few cars....the racing down here has really come to a stop in Philly....It sucks!!!

I have never gotten a ticket and I was moving around 55 in a 25 because I was late to get home but my boyfriend and his 04 mach 1 is just about to make a revolving account with his lawyer. For the most part cops are pretty cool in Kansas City. My bf and I race each other all the time and have never got caught together. We have also had a cop come up to his car while I was riding with him and say nice car what do you run at the track and let us go with a warning.

I hear ya man... cops hate me here in JERSEY... they've given me a ticket for hardly driving on the center yellow line and in my own town! They also used to sit outside my development and i've been followed to school... i've even been pulled over for, what he only informed me at the end of his rant, as a "loud muffler"..(in my own small town).. and he went on to accuse me of smelling like pot before he told me why he pulled me over. And I was pulled over litterally within 2minutes of me getting out of work. At first he even asked me what i think i did wrong 3 times and every time he got the same answer"i honestly don't know" i guess they just have nothing better to do?

my wife likes a good street race as long as it quick and safe...no 140 mph stuff.One night we took her car for dinner,i';m driving and a guy with his girlf pull up next to us.its Ls1 with loud exhaust,tires,etc looks and sounds good.1st light on a 6 lane he pulls ahead of me hard and i do nothing ....we both end up next to each other at next light ...i look over and motion to his girlf,he looks over and i motion lets do it.We both look around..some light traffic and no cops around.Light goes green and we both smoke um! let off and get back into it and stayed about even until about 80...wife loved it...even saw her grin when we hit second and tires hollared!She said later "that was neat"
