Was wondering if i can run a 150hp wet shot safely with out upgrading the fuel pump?

The answer is...............

maybe. I've seen stock fuel pumps handle a 150 shot with no problem and other "lazy" pumps fall on their face with a 100 shot including my own Corvette's which come with a normally very capable Walbro pump from the factory. Go figure.

Anyway, the bottom line is, your pump will probably be able to handle a 150 shot, but the only way to know for sure is to try it while monitoring your fuel pressure and/or your A/F ratio. If you see a big dip in your fuel pressure and/or your A/F going lean, you'll know you need to upgrade.

Personally, I'd just go ahead and upgrade my fuel pump if I were you. They really aren't all that expensive and you'll have one less thing to worry about. ;)

Watch your FP for sure..go lean and kaboom...150 shot you are probably safe as Xtrooper pointed out...but a Walbro (or other brand) fuel pump is no big deal and not that expensive at all.....

I depends on what else you got goin' on in that motor. I've read where the stock pump is only good to about 450 hp. My car seemed to verify this because I was running about 375 rwhp (at the time) and with 150 shot, I was only able to get 450 rwhp. All I did was add a Holley inline fuel pump (same as Walbro) and my rwhp jumped up to 527 rwhp.

Nitrous likes high pressure/high volume fuel pumps.....:yup:

If you're basically stock you'll be okay on the stock pump. If you are starting to do mods, like a cam with the bolt ons start looking at upgrading your pump. The Racetronix kits are real nice.
