How do you program the key and fob to an 04 GTO?

I don't know that we can program the fob. What are you looking to do?

I want to program my new spare key. I picked it up from a salvage yard.

On our keys, the metal laser cut key part will come off (2 screws) but the fob is not intended to come apart ( I've seen some links where someone has) and the batt. is a lithium but not intended to be changed out-is soldered to a metal link that connects to the key when screwed together.

That's crappy, because my spare key acted like the battery was dead on it. I just assumed I could change it. My regular key sometimes doesn't operate the trunk latch. I'll have to take it in. The thing that worries me is, after the warranty expires. They said the key was $400! Hopefully it doesn't stop working every 20K miles.

You must sacrifice a chicken or a lamb at the dealership. With your pants down and your credit card out and your mothers maiden name written on a legal pad. Grease your ass and hope for a "reach around"....
Send a cake to GM HQ that sez...Thank You Bob Lutz on top of it. Do it and do it now.

I just bought a new key and FOB, the cut key is $55 and the new FOB is $65. I have not found a way to program it but my dealership did it for free for me.
