Wow you are getting raped, it would't be a bad price if you were in your early 20's but at your age most guys are only paying about half that or less. I'm 22 and only pay $725 with travellers and a clean record in FL. How long ago was your accident?

I was with State Farm for over 25 years. They were good until I bought the SS LE. Then they wanted WAY TOO MUCH!! I switched to USAA and now I carry full coverage, $500 deduct and pay only $62.50 (give or take .50) per month.
Although I've been driving a few days now and have no accidents or tickets...

Everyone says “full coverage” does that mean collision, comp and liability? The info that seems to be missing is the most expensive part of the insurance, liability - do you have $10k/$25k or $100k/$300k (or any in between). I pay around $530/6mo no tickets, no accidents, 28yr old, with the lowest deductibles in collision and comp ($250/$500, per my bank) but I only have $10k/$25k because I don’t have much else to insure other than the car. I still think mine is a little high considering the perfect record. But they look at many things like your credit and where you live - i.e. accident rate in your area. My rates actually went up $12/mo because they said the area I live in has become a more accident prone now! Thanks Progressive. If anything that should show how good of a driver I actually am, I dodge all those bad drivers!

Just got my bill, $390.51/6 months, $500 Comp. $2000.00 Col. 6 star & I'm 45, no tickets, claims etc, plus insure 7 other vehicles & use the umbrella policy from my house.
I find it high for driving it 1000 miles per year. my other classics are worth more, but only cost around $200.00yr.
I found the only way to keep things cheaper was to start raising my deductibles.

If you have another car that you use as your daily driver, you can get an agreed upon policy. I have one and pay $200 a year with no deductible. There are stipulations though. The car must be in a locked garage at night , 6k miles a year, etc.

State Farm has Agreed Policies here in Ontario, but they only apply them to classic cars. I have these policies on my 66 GTO, 69 Chevelle & 78 T/A. They would not write me a policy on my 02 Camaro, even though I pretty much use it in the same manner as the older cars. My Av is my regular driver.
it seems a little rediculous to pay so much for the 02 when I hardly drive it.
I wish they would do Agreed policies for the newer stuff.
Up till this year State Farm was even sticky about having Historic Vehicle plates on the cars they had Agreed policies on, that seems to have relaxed a bit.

Great rate !! I have to do some shopping around, State Farm isn't giving me any great deal on my 02 & I just got hassled over the 85, 442, all I wanted on it was fire & theft, the car isn't plated & it's stored at the back of my shop. Last year when State Farm changed underwriters in Ontario I got a lot of grief on the older stuff, got sick of filling out forms for them to prove I wasn't using the cars for work, what did they think we had two late model vehicles for ??:brick:
Anyhow, enough griping, good insurance company, but they sure like to charge for the service, I have 6 vehicles and can only drive 1 at a time, but they bill them out as if you are driving them all at the same time ????

Wow you people make me feel very bad. I live in Taxachusetts with the damn closed insurance system (we aren't allowed to get geico and many others, giving a few companies complete rule over this commie state). I pay $3200 a year full coverage. I am 20, but 0 accidents 0 tickets. My Crown Vic Cruiser was $2400 a year. My Monte Carlo was only $2000 that was the only 6 cyl I ever drove. Covered across the board. I am told it will drop this month somewhat due to the 3 years with a license thing. Then again in two more years. Then some percentage every couple years until they decide they don't want it any lower.

I'm with State Farm and I'm only paying $821 for a full year. It is my second car under them, but I'm only 20 so I don't get have the big discounts yet. However, I believe states make a difference, I have 1 ticket (oops 94 camaro in the hands of a 17 year old). I am also good friends with the agent, which helps! Oh yes, Full coverage, BUT I also have a 1000 deductible

I dont know if it has already been mentioned, but moving from an urban area to a rural area will drop your rates quite a bit. As they say, location, location, location.
