whats up! i'm new but i'll jump straight to the point. I have to beat my friends 03 cobra. I don't no what mods I hace just bought the car, but i've beaten every ss or ws6 i've raced by about 5 cars or more. They say I must have a sleeper cam cause my powerband is very strong mid to high. Appreciate any thing you can dish out.

p.s yes i know there is ss's or ws6's that can wax my a@@!

if u are pretty much stock and u beat the ws6 already, I'd dyno ur car and
see if u run lean. if u are extremely lean u'll fry ur engine soon. go check the air fuel ratio. might as well do a tune while ur at it.. ohh btw if u pull 350rwhp at dyno then u should be equal to a Cobra 03/04 stock.. the bad news is if the cobra friend has minor changes like supercharger pulley mod, and a cat-back,and a tune he is most likely 400rwhp..

well back pressure exists. the ol hotrodders thought was every motor needs a little backpressure or it doesn't make power. and no backpressure eats up valves and kills cats and such.

the thing is this, lose back pressure and you lose low end torque but gain peak HP. The car will feel slower with less backpressure but will run faster. The low end torque loss isn't a factor for guys with standards and stalled autos cause you can launch higher than the rpms where you lost torque

they run the same as stock c6. the stock svt cobras are underrated 390, they are actually 420,, the c6 is 400hp but 200-300 lbs less.. It usually is like this:
for every 100lb, one needs to have an additional 10-12hp to compensate.
so Cobra svt and c6 do run same times 2.8-2.7 at 1/4 mi.

I agree. stock svt cobras have a shitty s/c pulley, once u change that I heard 50-60rwhp increase. that's the single most dramatic mod for the cheap $ for them..
after that, the mods are pretty much the same as LS1, LS2 etc.. too bad they only pull 12.7 stock with a s/c,,, hahah if u slap an s/c on a stock LS1 it will do 12.4-12.3 easy...

they're engine is built for turbo, unlike LSx where if you do more that 6psi you blow your stock engine.. that's why you have to do piston work and etc to do more than 6psi and be healthy for the engines. different platforms all together..

He had some weird setup, he put in an engine from a PT crusicer and did a bunch of shit to it. It looked like a POS untill he popped the hood other then that he had a nos bottle and speackers in the trunk.
