Drag Radials for WS6

Ok, first of, i have decided not to sell my WS6 which i am relieved to say. Second, i think i want to put drag radials on the rear of the car but i dont know if i may have to do anything different. What i'm looking for is low profile on the front and then drag radial on the back. I have the tires already chosen for the front but these are the only drag radials i could find. I do however, remember a friend of mine telling me that i needed to beef up the back end before i put drag radials on. He said if i do happen to put drag radials on i'd tear the hell out of the rear. is he right? and anyone know anything else about radials? Thanks in advance.

I have two sets of drag radials for the rear of mine.

On the street I run 315/35/17 Nitto DR's. 17x11 rear wheel
At the strip I run 275/50/15 Mickey Thompson ET Street radials. 15x10 rear wheel.

M6 or A4?? Those DR's you listed are a decent sticky tire that could give your rearend fits. More so if you have a 6-speed.

A4, so whats the best tire for the rear end i have now? i dont wanna hastle myself with switching tires all the time.

I am sure those BFG's would be fine.
The A4 preloads the rearend at launch, so it doesn't shock it like the M6 does.

Nittos grab the least, last the longest.
BFG's are right in the middle. Grab good, lsat 5000 miles or so.
MT's grip like crazy, but don't last long at all.

i think the BFg's would best suit me... also, i love the look of the rally tires on the old stingrays.... problem is... i cant find any... and i dont wanna dish out too much for 18" rims in the back and 17" rims in the front... any idea on where i cna go to get good prices?

IMO Id go with the Nitto's just because if you are not at the race track every other weekend its not really worth it to go with the BFG's! The BFG's dont last as long as the Nittos and the Nittos hook-up just as well for a 17 inch rim! The Nitto's look better to me also,and usually are a little cheaper... but thats my opinion. Both are very nice tires though, Ive had both.

At street tire pressure my Nittos on 17" wheels hook as well as my MT's on 15" wheels. At least from a 20 MPH punch in first.

Not really sure about hitting it off the line on the street. Normally spins either set.

agreed with above.
ive had nittos on my car for 3 years and im making more than stock h.p and the rear has been fine so far. im also stalled.
im going to be switching to a more sticky DR come spring.
it seems that after 350 rwhp the nittos dont want to hold.
if you were to put on E.T streets on the rear, then you should worry.
all DRs do spin alittle so dont worry about the rear too much

the nittos dont hook up better, a friend and i tried that test.

Had BFG drags could not even launch at 1800 rpms & not weather freindly...MT's hook alot better

With my M6 and on the Nittos I have cut 1.86 a couple times. Nittos will grab even better with a automatic car.

My Nittos hold the street good at 445 RWHP (actual power at my altitude) and they feel the same as the MT's on the street.

The track is completely different.
