View Full Version : Best transmission??...quality wise

I recently bought '03 Denali AWD w/ Lingenfelter 475 HP upgrade. Rossler 4L60E transmission is toast @ 33k miles. Probably fault of previous owner's lack of understanding maintenance requirements...or choice of maintenace provider.

I have confidence that LPI picked Rossler for a good reason. LPI suggests I have Rossler rebuild it and I'm not opposed to Rossler.

Want other qualified opinions, hence this post. Since I get to replace it, I want to be sure I get the best...in regards to quality.

Considerations:
Denali is used daily and will be used to pull 9000# boat ~1000 miles per year. I expect to keep this bad boy for a long while.

BTW, this is a fun ride...makes my heart go pitter/patter. I like the stall setting of 2800...wife says it is rough...I say, not her ride.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

First, congrats on a nice ride.
Your trans requirements are a bit different, since you want pulling power.
LPI tends to know what they are doing; I would probably go with their suggestion, at least the first time.
As far as the wife, well, they can be bought and sold, but a car is forever. Wait, did I get that backwards?:thinking

No... I'm pretty sure that's right.
