i had an issue at the track and my rear got screwed up somehow. if the gears are messed up, (which i dont think they are), what new gears should i go with? I will be installing Pacesetter LT's with a Texas Speed and Performance 3 in. Y-pipe with catalytic convertors, and a Magnaflow Cat- Back, this winter. with that setup, would 3.43 gears be a good match for now or should i leave the stock 3.23 gears in?

if i go for something like 3.73 will i be burning too much fuel if im cruising on the highway, or at 80 mph? i want my car too be 100% streetable, and have as little drawbacks as possiblle

I have a 2002 Trans Am WS6 with an automatic tranny

There's not enough difference between 3.23/3.42 - if you need new gears I'd go with 3.73. This is from www.f-body.org/gears/

3.23 @ 71 MPH = 2100 RPM
3.42 @ 70 MPH = 2200 RPM
3.73 @ 70 MPH = 2400 RPM
