i think so... ... but why would you want an ls6 cam in your 5.3?

i was told it would be a performance gain. i don't know the specifics of this cam and the difference between it and mine. i'm mainly looking for a gain in breathability, and power in my truck besides what i've already done.

If a LS6 cam is added to a 5.3 motor with a cat-back exhaust, an open-element air cleaner, some degrees of iginition added and 94 octane gas you could see over 50 rwhp and 25 rwtq gains.
That is from the CHEVY LS1/LS6 V-8s book I have.

thank you so much. now this is probably my inexperience really coming out but how is the timing changed on these motors with no distributor... through the computer programmers available?

Timing is changed via a computer tune. The LS6 cam spec is a .551/.551 on a 115.5 LSA.
