Crew cab with a 4.8.

Next year I will be looking at purchasing a new truck (new to me but slightly used). I'm looking for a full size Chevrolet crew cab made after 04. I'm not really looking for a performance truck just something with size and has enough power to get from point A to point B. I know the 4.8 engine works well in regular cab trucks but how does it put up with the added weight of the crew cab?

I have the 4.8 in an extended cab and I hate it. Get one with the 5.3 at least. Not to mention I get crappy mileage compared to a friend that has the 5.3 in the same truck.
