Brake upgrade for 97

What will work to upgrade my 97 and keep the 16 inch alloys?
Ive heard that C5 rotors can be used with LS-1 calipers and still fit.
Is this true, anyone have a parts lists of what GM parts and what
aftermarket bracket works?

Looking at parts is it really worth up grading the rears to 98 up?
