Winter Driving

Well, it looks like I'm going to be driving my formula over the winter. I'm hoping that it will be a mild one, but we've had up to 6 inches from one storm last winter. What can I do to make it through the winter, and down the road, safley? Liek tire recomendatins, and whatnot?

that sucks, bro. I had to drive my ws.666 through 2 winters. It didnt' survive the second one.

You'll want new tires if yo have more than 20k miles on your current ones. I had Fuzion zr1's and they are good stuff. really you'll want a tire that has a groove down the middle of it so it almost looks like 2 treads in one tire. It'll help get the wet stuff out from under you.

tips:
_park on a level service or faceing down a slope so that it's easy to pull out.

_put a bag of salt or a set of subwoofer's in your hatch to keep the back end planted

_go slow around corners and over bridges [wind will be an issue on icey roads]

take the bus or taxi, they suck in the snow man, i would not even chance it after last year driving mine

You will need an all season tire for the winter. Just take corners slow, and dont mash on the gas. If you have traction control, I would leave that on.

Thanx for the advice.

I've got a 115 mile drive to work once a week, or I would park the car for the winter. I'm thinking about taking the brand new set of all season tires off of my '79 Esprit, but I'm not sure what size they are. I do know that they're only 15's though. Would this be a good idea, or a bad idea? O yeah, the '79 has a blown motor so I cant drive it

for the money you will spend on a set of snow tires, plus the money you will spend at the body shop after it gets smashed anyway... buy a cheap ass beater and drive that when it snows. You dont necessarily have to drive it all winter, just leave the good car at home when it is really bad out.

The first year i had my TA i drove it in the winter, but when it snowed i walked my ass or i borrowed my sisters car. After that i found that having a beater is the way to go... then in the spring the TA feels like a rocket
