Is it illegal to use LT's in California? Is there any way at all to use LT's in California or should I just forget about it?

LT's are illegal in every state - But everyone still has them.

I know cali is the worst state for emmissions stuff. What type of test do you have? If its a visual you are screwed, but if its a OBD or sniffer you are fine. There are plenty of guys on here from cali so they will chime in.

Im from cali and am going to put some LTs as soon as i get ahold of some. When the time comes to do the sniff test ill take them off and put the stock stuff back on.

That's what you gotta do if you want LT's in Ca.

For the original poster... cali has visual, sniff and obd II tests so LT's are a automatic failure. You're going to have to swap'em every 2 years if you want them that bad.
