Went to track today! timeslips inside!

i went to byron dragway today.. weather was kinda cold.. my tires are pretty bald and because of weather, i took easy ot the tree so my 60's are not that good. i was like a chicken at tree, i couldnt laucnh my car the way i wanted too.. i prefered to bog the car instead of spinning cuz bogging gives me better 60'. so, i ran 4 times today and i didnt spin of the line at all except one run. i went to track to get 13.5s but i am back with very dissapointing 13.7:(

BTW. my best is 13.6@94.21mph with missing a gear. 1.93 60' stock tires.. better times will come soon..

Curtis, there were ton of cammed f-bodies there.. those things sounded sick.. i think i wet my pants when i saw them.. the run that i missed gear was against a camaro SS cammed and god knows whatelse.. he ran 11.20.. i wasn't sitting right and i missed 3rd gear.. also i was kinda excited.. but still ran 13.9:) one my buddy's friend had 98 ws6 auto with 3.23 gears and his best was 13.2.. i think i couldnt have done better times if track would be kinda hot so we could get better tractions.

i still don't freaking get this Curtis.. i cut 2.1 60' and ran 13.76 @ 102.86 and another run i cut 1.99 60' and ran 13.77 @ 101.mph.. wtf?

Hard to be consistent with a stick shift.
Subtle RPM differences when you shift and what RPM you shift at can change it.
Most of the time the better the 60' the lower the trap speed. Most of the time.

i see.. thanks man.. your car would rock today at byron!!!! you woould be 10 secs EASILY.. IMO.

Doubtful.
One pass and I would get kicked.
The altitude change alone would be worth 75+ RWHP...meaning it would be a completely different car. Would take some getting used to driving.

Maybe sometime later next year I can get a weekend off.

no freaking way you would get kicked!!!! those camaros, trans ams didnt have any interior security bars or something.. they were like 4 seat regular street cars.. a 350z ran 11.50 completely street car.. he just had slicks.. there were oldschools ran high 10s with no bars in the car.. i has seen 12 sec. passes and driver didnt even have helmet!!


one camaro did 8 sec pass.. i was speechless!!!!

I was there that weekend also. 1 of your pics my car is in.I had the only 30th TA that day.I went 13.4 at 108 with a 2.3 60 ft. Been a while since I ran a 6 spd. My last toy was a GN with ET's on the back.auto and good tires....big difference.

yeah man.. that nova was SICK!! did you see that 89 firebird? i lined up with him on my last run and he SMOKED me.. and ran 8 sec.:bomb:

No car today, me and my 2 buds were out spectating. Me and 1 of the guys live a mile from speed inc. The other guy told us they had a lane so we went to see some of the cars they have done.

I need to get DR's before I go back. I'm hoping I can get in the 12's. Last week I ran 13.4 at 108.
