I gotta go with Hooker as well. I have a complete Hooker setup. They are some of the oldest in the biz. Great sound but not overpowering. I used to run a cutout full time but with the new job I am constantlyh on the interstate and could never hear my cell ring. Everyone has their preferences but "I Love My Hooker"

I have a borla but it was on the car when I bought it.After putting on the Y pipe and long tubes it sounds great. That plus the dyno tune got me 345 to the wheels.

Man,don't get a Hooker! It ruined my gas milage!
The sound is so enjoyable and amazing, every time I get in the car all I want to do is WOT!!!LOL If you don't get on it, it sounds like stock and is not objectionable .I don't think you can beat the system for the money!

I swear by Magnaflow. Great quieter tone at idle, then mean when WOT.
And it is as good as any performance wise.
Stay away from the SLP Loudmouth if you plan on upgrading down the road.
I made the mistake myself years ago.
Sounded good until I modded the exhaust further.
Plus, SLP has terrible customer service.
Good luck!!

My vote is L/M. The don't call it loud for nothing, there is a drone at 2k rpm but there's nothing like it at WOT. I get more compliments from just the sound of my car than anything else...

Not sure on the LS1, but I have an SLP Loudmouth on my '97 LT1 T/A...I love it...noticeable performance gain, sounds great...not as "loud" as you may expect, at normal driving RPM's and on the highway, just a nice rumble, can easily have a conversation in the car...but at WOT, it screams....LOL

That's about it, I was toying with the idea of selling it but I think I'll keep it and throw a nice H/C package at it in the summer.

Original Loud Mouth Shotgun is louder, do to using a resonator only.
Loud Mouth II uses muffler, i think.

I am surprised, but PLEASED that Corsa isnt a crowd favorite so far in this thread. Back when I had all my posts, everyone swore by it being "worth the price." I cant see it. Along with that, I cant see buying a borla nor a B&B.
If all catbacks give the same performance, then youre just buying the type of metal and look.
I am biased since I heard the borla and hated it. Sounded like the banging of pots and pans. The B&B is less popular, but it looks as good as the corsa and is cheaper.
My vote goes for Magnaflow or Hooker..and if you want better tips you can buy the Corsa's and still save money...even though their tips are expensive too.

I installed it myself on a lift in about a hour. Then I paid a shop 20 bucks to tack weld the seams for security.

When I was looking for exhaust I wanted to compare Borla and Loudmouth next to each other(a friend had Borla and someone on here met us in a nearby town) well I chose the Loudmouth and love it(I had it before my 2002Firehawk came in to the dealer) I then ordered it for my 1996 Formula WS6. Then I bought my wife a 1998 Formula and ordered it for that also. I installed it on all cars and it was pretty easy(I didnt cut it off of the 02 and 96) It is real easy if you cut your old exhaust off.
My vote goes to the LOUDMOUTH!!!! I think it could be louder tho.

Mine's got a Magnaflow catback. I love the sound. Makes a nice growl when you start the car... stays quiet and unassuming when you're idle, but if you lay into it, it gets nice and loud. It's great for highway driving because you don't hear the constant drone. The pipes stay nice and shiny if you keep 'em clean. No fancy tips, just a pair of big round pipes that look like they're gonna launch a couple SAMs. :D
