Just wanted to let everybody know that I beat ANOTHER ZO6 tonight.
He was a cocky guy who ask for the race, so I gave it to him.
Spanked him pretty bad, about 5 cars or so, 1st gear to middle of 3rd gear.
Then we hit traffic, Funny after that he pulled off into a parking lot after saying "you mustangs always use NOS to win"

I dont know what year it was, but I know it was 01 to 04.
Aren't they supposed to be fast? I looked great, but it was slow.
Oh yeah, I dont have NOS. But Ill bet he wished he did?

You misunderstand me? This is my site as well as yours, I have had 3 Trans Ams, My sister has had 2 Z28's, My father has had 2 SS Chevelles and 4Corvettes. I love GM cars. I almost got an 01 vette instead of my Cobra, untill I drove both cars.

I only post this to get the word out that the old ZO6 is not that fast.
It was a kill I got with my Cobra, so I posted it. Remember that is what we talk about on sites like this, I wish some more GM guys would visit the Stang sites as well. They are very one sided, we all need equal representation.

And it was a 5 car win (he didnt let off at all, I continued to pull the whole race) so I do think it was a KILL.

If you're stock there's no way you beat a Z06. The best times I've seen a "Terminator" Cobra stock was in the 12.8 & 12.9 range. The Z06 runs 12.5's consistently......now these times were with professional drivers which I dont think you are. I'd have to agree with the guys earlier......the Z06 guy just didn't know how to drive it......

And as far as not losing a race......remember....there is always a faster car out there.....if you were down here in Florida you'd get eaten alive.......like I said earlier....I'd enjoy bringing you back to reality.

Its not stock, Im running 457 rwhp and 470 rwtq
I have yet to run it at the track, I wanted to learn to drive it first.
But the previous owner said he got 11.7 with with nitto drag radials, he seemed pretty honest to me, He kept his 10.5 inch rear wheels with the DRs, so I have the stock 9 inch 275/40 17's, It doesnt hook up at all. But I'm sure I could get low 12's with street tires.

The 01 Cobra I had would do 160. Quick like. Handled better than my Z, and stock brakes were better.

But you know, opinions are like assholes...everybody has one.

The funny thing is that the Z has never lost traction in twisties, or even come close. The Cobra did slide a little on me one day when I was racing a hopped up 98 Cobra, but I was doing 120 mph and the tires were a little slick.

I don't know what it is really. The Cobra suspension just inspired more confidence for some reason. Maybe the IRS had something to do with it. :dunno:

Under 14 secs. quick, Under 13 secs. fast, under 12 secs. Bad, Under 11 secs. Badder, Under 10 secs. BADDEST! I would love to find a Cobra like yours to race and if it had your kind of power and the person could drive at all I would lose. I'd give them a thumbs up and wait for the next oportunity to run someone without putting others at risk. RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG AND HOPE YOU BRUNG ENOUGH!!!! Horse power per pound will keep me in the race so it will depend on drivers. I had an A4 in the WS6 so I got spoiled in the ease of straight line racing. The Z06 revs so fast I keep bouncing off the rev limiter in first and second. Guess I'm getting too excited. I'll tune it in eventually!!:yup:

Just wanted to let everybody know that I beat ANOTHER ZO6 tonight.
He was a cocky guy who ask for the race, so I gave it to him.
Spanked him pretty bad, about 5 cars or so, 1st gear to middle of 3rd gear.
Then we hit traffic, Funny after that he pulled off into a parking lot after saying "you mustangs always use NOS to win"

I dont know what year it was, but I know it was 01 to 04.
Aren't they supposed to be fast? I looked great, but it was slow.
Oh yeah, I dont have NOS. But Ill bet he wished he did?

P.S. I love Trans ams, Camaros, and vettes alot. And I love beating them.

thats a collection of stuff I got off the net, all ETs are from Magazine articles, with street tires and 100% stock, I tried to post the best numbers I could find for each car. Almost every time I found one, another test would report them slower of faster, or curb weight would be differant, I know that they are all real close. just goes to show ya, all cars are differant as well as drivers.

Which numbers seem off? Fill me in?

Just my .02 worth but I think all the numbers look close enough to be respectable. I think the margin of error will be found in the driver more than anything. Some Car Magazines use drivers that are looking for the ride quality and some CAR MAGAZINES are true die hard gear heads who just want the true power specs and use drivers that drive it like they stole it and get the best ET's they can. Good job pulling all the info. together!!:yup:

Its not stock, Im running 457 rwhp and 470 rwtq
I have yet to run it at the track, I wanted to learn to drive it first.
But the previous owner said he got 11.7 with with nitto drag radials, he seemed pretty honest to me, He kept his 10.5 inch rear wheels with the DRs, so I have the stock 9 inch 275/40 17's, It doesnt hook up at all. But I'm sure I could get low 12's with street tires.

I laugh every time I read how putting a car through the gears one time over a quarter mile or so is driving. Drag racing is a mechanics race. Yah, I agree that there is skill involved, but, it's hardly a true test of actual driving ability. If we want to discuss driving skill, it needs to be measured over 10 laps or so on a road course or an oval.

A kill is a kill, Its not a GM Ford thing, its a race. I beat this particular ZO6 by a lot, so I posted it. Just wanted to share the story.

I think you should go to the Ford sites and Keep them honest as well, I know I do anytime they start bashing GM cars, All fast cars are cool to me.
