I got on here yesterday for the first time and had some questions about a 02 WS6 , m6, well today i bot it, and i love it, but i read on here on one of the threads that if under the driverside head on the block the last four digits are 1168, that the block is a ls6 block, well this one has those numbers, is this true and does this add any power??:flex:

They sure do. Some times the number 8 at the end falls off or gets scuffed though. Be careful cuz when that happens, you lose 10-15hp.

Some people just can't take a little sarcasm. I would have found that funny if I'd been in your position, laughed it off a little, and then asked the next logical question:
How WOULD you go about telling if you have an LS6 block?

simple question, simple answer, no need for name calling. It's his first LS1 and he's a new member. We were all in his position once. And yes 1168 is for an LS6 and it's a better block design, not necessarily more power. You still have the restrictive LS1 heads and LS1 internals and cam

An LS1 engine with an LS6 block is still an LS1. It does not add any power. They are interchangible.
