I have a 2000 WS6 M6. It already had Borla cat-backs on it when I bought it. Not always, but a lot of times when you shift gears between 2000-3000 rpm the car kind of putters.... crappy word I know. But it backfires back through the exaust. Normaly its a series of 3 or 4 short burps. But once in a while its 1 loud one. At first I thought this was normal but Im not really familiar with cat-backs. SO my question is.... Is this normal or do I have an exaust leak or a tune problem? What does everyone think?

Sorry, I'm not really knowledgable enough to give you good advice on what the problem (if there is one) is, but I can tell you I've had Borla on my '99 WS6 m6 for around four years now and the only time I've heard the back pressure "burp" is when it's at higher rpms (2.5-3k) and I just suddenly let off the gas pedal. I think that's pretty normal though. If it's happening right when you let off the gas to switch gears then I'd say it's normal, but don't take just my word for it. :D

Mine does this all the time when I shift if I don't get on the gas fast. I made a custom plate that the opening is just enough to make exhaust go throug the muffler to rumble inside. If my car is cold it will really make some nice big bangs for the first couple of shifts. I was just thinking it is breathing fairly well.

Personally Borla isnt the best But its good. It may just be that its cold or whatnot. But you might just want to call someone and make sure that it isnt something else.

It's normal with M6's. :yup:
I don't have a Borla and it still does the same shit when cold.
Don't worry about it.... :)
