What do you guys think about putting lambo doors on a Camaro...I have had alot of mixed reactions and am undecided if it's worth my time and money...I've priced them at about $1,200 for a kit and I know some guys localy who will install it but I kinda would like some more opinions............If it helps my camaro is more of a show car and is driven all summer long and stored winters

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Seriously, I wouldn't do it. A guy with an '02 Mustang did it here and its ok, but really kinda goofy lookin. He only got the wow factor for a weekend, then it died off. Now he wants to sell it and can't get crap for the car.

It does have one very nice plus... Our doors are so friggen long that you have to park in a pretty wide space or you can only open the door 1/2 way to get out before you're dinging someone next to you. That's the big advantage (other than "wow") that I could see that would justify it. An aquaintance of mine is a body guy and is actually working on doing that to his car, but his car won't be up and going for like 6 months or something.

I work at a body shop and we have done lambo doors on may cars but i dont think it would look very good beside the shock wear out after time and on sometimes if the job was not done really good your door could fall off if it was a weld on aplication and after about six month if you dont change the shock the door could fall then and make you look like a fool when you door comes down on you

I think Lambo doors only belong on Lambo's, but it doesn't really matter what we think, it's your car and if you like it you should do it.

Its a class act and the only way to go.
No matter what, it puts the 'freak on' and no one .. I mean no one .. is going to ridicule you .. except those who always need their art spoonfed to them ..

Afterall .. all I ever see is unhappy LS1's owners because they spent thousands on mods that got them nothing more than frustrated and broke then try to sell their cars at exorbitant prices because of all their painstaking 'labor of love' that actually made their camaros worthless ..

If you ever have to sell it .. you can honestly say its a 'rare collectors car'
This would be a "rightoeus schmooze" I'd like to see for once ..

If you are going to do it, you have to cut the top of the fenders or the doors will not open up all the way. I don't care for it. But if you are going to do it, go to verticaldoors.com. They have a kit specifically designed for Camaros. Around $2200.00

Well I must say I was surprised by the number of "NO"'s I got. I personaly think it would be REALLY different and I have only seen pictures of them but none on the street yet. Like alot of yous said I guess it is personal opinion and It would be different. I am a huge anti-rice Camaro owner and I didn't really consider it to be a ricer thing because all of my installs abd mods are as clean as can be and only bring out the true AMERICAN in my car. Well more opinons and comments would be appreciated cuz I have still gotten alot of mixed reactions from some locals as well........Still undecided!

I said i didn't care for it. You should do what you feel makes your car look good to you. Cutting the fenders up near the mirrors i feel takes some of the body styling away from the car. Unless you take the cut off pieces and have them molded on to the mirrors to keep the original look of the body. I checked into doing this to my Z and it would be about $3300.00 to do. (Buying the door kit, having the kit put on and having the cut off molded on to the mirrors. Then painted.)
P.S. The Verticaldoors.com kit is a bolt on kit. And you will have to take the fenders off to put the kit on and adjust it correctly.
