I found a black on black, 6 speed, 2002 WS6, with 99k miles on it, I've been looking for a year for one in my price range, it runs great, doesnt smoke or make noises, holds good oil pressure, everything seems good, carfax checked out good, should I be worried?, how long are ls1's realiable for? :flex:

what is your price range? 99k is nothing. When properly taken car of an LS1 can go for over 200k. I've personally seen an original LS1 with 242k on it. If the car was well maintaned then go for it.

auto-4speed the 4l60e tranny..and m6 the 6 speed manual t56 tranny...well since its a 6 speed  make sure you test drive it and run it threw ALL of the gears. if they shift hard then talk them down becuase you'll have to do some work to the tranny...plus i think at 100k isnt it about time for a new clutch?

I planned going ahead and changing the clutch when I got it, what is good clutch for the money?

spec 3 or a z06 clutch..which is the same as was in..but with the spec 3 its going to be a lil rough intill it breaks in so if you get it dont worry its normal :)

i wouldn't replace the clutch unless the other one is worn out. They aren't exactly cheap

There is are really no common weak points to the LS1. It a great engine. Your problems will probably lie with other parts of the car. Clutch like you said. The stock rearend isn't very good, but can last as long as you don't add a ton of power or beat the hell out of the car.

well stock is 3.42. Most guys with 6spd cars get 4.10's. Knocks about .5 off your 1/4 time

Just Keep in mind its the mechanic that took care of it. Iv seen cars wit 30 thou miles have serious issues and then cars that were maintained run too over 230,XXXmiles. I wouldnt worry too much and worst case senario the motor blows up and it would force you too purchase a bigger and better motor. :seesaw:

thats a lot of $$ for the miles. I would get something older. These cars are almost identical from 98-02. Try looking for a regular T/A. You should be able to find a nice 60-70k regular T/A for that price.

i think thats cheap!buy it,but before you do take the vin number to any gm dealer and have them run a check on it.Won't cost you anything and if its ever been to any gm dealer for repairs it will show all.

I've thot of gettin a regular T/A or Z28, but I want the ram air hood, and the WS6 package, its a 6 speed, and thats the cheapest that had those options, plus 2002 doesnt hurt
