I was driving my 2001 trans am and at a red light i floored it and it redlined and i didn't notice, but the next day when i started the car i heard a weird noise like a small knocking noise? Any ideas what it could be?

could be normal could be serious, these cars tend to have "piston slap" (likely in your case because you have an 01') or its just valve tick which is normal for any GM

if it gets louder with RPM's and your performance decreases, and you have metal in your oil then yyou have to worry about it,

if none of these occur its not much to worry about

To be on the safe side you need to have a 402 built and installed.

Any ideas what it could be?could be you just knocked a piece of carbon loose off one of the pistons.My wifes car went to the body shop quiet and came back with a hell of a knock.fkn pricks beat on her car hard and it knocked for a few days until it stopped.fkn bastards!

A 402 is the solution, I think I hear a knocking too.:yup: :happy: :lol:
