P0446 code going off

CEL light came on yesterday. Took it to Auto Zone to be downloaded. Guy gave me a slip with this code on it. His troubleshooting booklet said to replace the "charcoal canister". I look up th code here on ls1.com and it reads "P0446 EVAP Vent Solenoid Valve Control System".

Does anyone know what I need to replace, and where I can purchase it?

Does the car need a new charcoal canister?

The guy at Auto Zone said Auto Zone does not carry the canister, otherwise I would have bought one.

I would start by ensuring your gas cap is on tightly. A loose, missing, defective,or incorrect fuel cap will set this code.

Check the fuel cap and clear the code. See if the code comes back. If it does.....then you can start looking at the evap lines for damaged or incorrectly routed.

Visit www.gearchatter.com and look it up for your year. Buddy of mine had problems with P0442 (not your code) but they had to pressurize the evap system with smoke to find it.
