there is this dude that i used to go to school with me that has an 88 eclipse gst. i know it is turbo'd but he said other than that he didnt have any other big mods. it isnt awd just plane ol front wheel drive single turbo. we ran about 1/4 and he was pulling on me nearly the whole way. do i suck at driving or is it possible that i just got tricked into racing a heavily modded import?

which one u got the 4.8 n/a, 327 n/a, 350 n/a or da 4.8 s/c. And the eclipse was probably upgraded . I had a 89 gst that ran 11.8 in da 1/4 with a cold air, front mount, turbo of a EVO 5 and a dump exhaust only $800 of mods
so dont think it is slow the 4G63 is the fastest 4 banger ever

i wasnt in my truck. i was driving our 02 ws6. it is pretty much bone stock.... i wouldnt even try running him in my truck. the ws6 isnt really mine my dad bought it just to show off so i drive it around quite a bit, so that is why i have the regency as my car. "4G63" I dont really know what motor this is but whatever this dude had was smokin. I will have to ask that dude what was going on because personally i think he was lieing to me and i think he has a lot of mods on his car. and for those who are asking a Chevy regency is like a silverado 1500 with a v-8 and just has some minor upgrades for appearance and exhaust and mostly just cosmetic stuff.

The 4G63-T wasn't available in the United States until the 1990 model year.

I am just telling you what the guy told me. i dont know nething about his car other that what he told me. i dont know what motor or nothing. he just said single turbo and front wheel drive. he said he didnt have any bigtime mods added to it. I do know that car can run though

Turbo eclipses can be modded very easily into a very fast car. I saw a 91 Eclipse at National Trails do a low 11 1/4 mile. Thats just the fastest I have seen there are definately faster ones out there.
