Ok, I'm a bit confused.. I bought a 95 Firebird about 2 weeks ago.
It's got the 6-speaker panels, and has componets up front. It has the mid-lows in the rear quarters and then the imitation 6x9's in the hatch.
The stereo does NOT say Monsoon and I can not find an amp by the spare.

What do I have? I wish I could just turn the volume up and tell, but both the hatch speaker are blown and one of my fronts are. I can tell that the 6.5s in the rear are only receiving the low freqs so the crossover is working properly.

??

Is it possible I dont have an amp and that in 95 the monsoon stereo was driven with a slightly more powerful HU ?

You should have a regular factory amplified system. The amp is located under the arm rest in back on the passeneger side of the car. If it were a POS Monsoon system the amp would be above the rear wheel well forward of the spare tire.

Yep. Found it. Under the armrest of the rear pass seat like you said. Thanks!

If the speakers are blown, then yes, you probally have the monsoon.
