Dodge Daytona R/T Hemi

I looked at a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T with a Hemi when I bought my 2002 WS6. It was really nice inside, and I liked the banana yellow color. I ended up buying the WS6, because it just felt more like a sports car than the Charger, which seemed to be built more for luxury. I wanted more power, and the WS6 seemed to deliver better.

I just happened to meet up with the Charger the other day on the street, and he attempted to keep me from passing him, unsuccessfully. We ran about 3 times, passing my house and he never even came close. No challenge. I turned around disappointed after the 3rd run, and headed back to the house (where I was headed to begin with).

The Charger sounds great, and has a 350HP 390FT/LBS Hemi, but I guess it weighs too much to be very fast.

good kill, but i wouldnt advise trying those shinanigons with an srt model...

They're pigs but even the 5.7's will beat most of your average cars...like hondas or whatever. The srt on the other hand will give a stock ls1 a good run...if not a death.

SRT-8s are 425HP 420FT/LBS, according to Dodge's website. From what I've seen on drag times, they're quick out of the box (0-60 in 5.4) and pretty good in the quarter (13.5@105) as the weight/torque ratio catches up. http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/do/vdp/articleId=107369/pageNumber=1

I would expect a good street race from an SRT-8, probably coming down to more of a driver performance than car. It appears the challenge would be best from a roll...

All things being "normal", stock SRT-8s run low 13s easily. That includes the Grand Cherokee. Some have dipped into the 12s. It's a great race vs. lightly modded and stock LS-1s.

I saw an srt-8 300C with an air intake run a 12.90 and a stock jeep click off a 13.22. They are nasty. Stock chargers or 300's non srt have been like 13.90's but they are stinkin heavy.

i own 06 mustang GT 5-speed and i know i will beat R/Ts with no problem but i have been dying to race with srt-8s i wanna see where i am against those cars.. i dont know if 300C is the same as R/T but i killed 300c when i firtst got my car but it wasn't fair cuz he got passenger!!

I ran an Srt-8 GC at the track. he pulled a 13.7@101 to my 13.5@105. He KILLED me outa the hole. They have a couple of new Trailblazer SS's at the track that are low 13s with the same MPH. I tried running a Srt-8 Charger last night but he said "NO!"

Hey guys, my dad has a red GC SRT-8 and we ran from a 40 mph roll up to 100 mph, and I pulled about 3-4 lengths on him in my 372rwhp 02 TA M6. We never ran from a stop though, however i ran his other car lol. We won't go there though, but the GC was stomped by good ol' LS1 at least from 40 mph.

The SRT-8 lose? I've ran down several stock LS-1s. Go on LS-1tech and the consensus is the SRT-8 has an edge. More bone stock SRT-8s running 12s than LS-1s, too.

Nothing but major respect for LS-1s on the SRT-8 forums....

I was at teh track and there was an srt8 charger there. he was running 13.8's all night and wouldnt even race me. I only have a few boltons, but he saw my times and knew i would :poop: on this hemi.
