I would like to take this car to the drag strip {1- 2 times a month } and autocross it. What are the best mods that will get me the most power for the buck? I do not want to use nitrous.

something like this is pretty popular with the LT1s. the 383 stroker kits.

i had a LT1 vette and they do well in auto-x.

I am doint a 383 job to my 93 vette replacing heads cam crank and pistons (stock rods I'm cheap) as well as upgrading OPTI timming set oil pump and other little things that wont realy change power but when you have the engine out of the car (and its a pain in the A to get it out) you may as well completely rebuild the entire motor since most C4 vetts have between 50 and 100K on them not the kind of motor you want to push in total I have spent about 3-4K on parts and services machine shop and the lot. The engine isn't finished but I ballpark low to mid 400s if you go hard core on a 383 full forged setup balanced to 10k ported polished and matched intake and heads pluss flat tapet radical cam you could probably get to the 500s at about 7k RMP but the cost would be at least double the parts I bought and the car would idle like poo.

yes elderbrock makes a head and cam for lt1 its quoted at 370 horse take that for what its worth its usualy not sold as apackage but they only have one set of LT1 heads and somewhere on the site you can find the recomended cam total cost about 1200 800 for heads 200 cam and about 100 to 200 in instalation parts gaskets and sealants

I think that a Vette was an LT-4. But which ever you have, work the heads. From what I can tell LT heads can be ported out to almost as good as aftermarket. Start with a GOOD port job and valve job. Use bigger valves like 2.00 and 1.6 . Then do the intake. Port match the TB and the runners. It will make a big diff.

That would be my $.02

It should run in the mid 13's now. I want to get it to upper12's. On street tires. Unless I can get some dr's that can also be used to autox. I should say it is a 6 speed. Would a gear change work for a few tenths? I should say it is a 92 , not a 94. i will try to edit that now.

what gears are in it if it is stock it should have 3.42 unless 6 speed are deff.

yes, i believe 3:42. I thought about changing them, but what ratio would be best for 1/4 performance?
