I have a 01 WS6 with minor bolt ons. GMAFS, lid, K$N, Smooth bellow and that is all of the Engine mods. The car has 35000 miles on it and rarely gets driven. I am having a problem with the motor ‘Knocking’ between 5300 and 5900 RPM. It almost sounds like Octane knock but I have put Octane booster and 0 -60 in the tank. I had it on an AutoTap early this year and the guy thought that my timing was off a little at high RPM’s and I cleaned the MAFS. Any ideas??? I am going to put the stock MAF in the car and see if my GMAF is bad.

all aftermarket MAFs suck and cause the ping you are getting.
the stock maf flows well beyond 400 rwhp.

So is it a bad MAF or just the way they are designed?

I cant help ya..
But does cleaning the MAF sensors help with pinging? My engine pings too...
How cleaner spray is used for the maf again..?

the car didnt start pinging till after you install the maf.
