my girl drives a pontiac vibrater gt. she wants a new car or it to have some more nuts. so... i need help it has 105,000 miles on it and it runs strong, i'm getting ready to put a new clutch in it but would consider modding it. i know they had a s/c available but it is like $2500. what else can i get away with to make the female happy. it is the same engine as the toyota matrix with like a whopping 180hp!! thanks everybody

Start with the basics. Get a cold air intake, header, and catback exhaust system. That will bump it up to over 200HP right there. Also get a short shifter if its a manual, they make a huge difference in shifting feel.
If she still wants more power after that, consider a turbo or supercharger kit.

thats what i want to do. but i dont want to waste too much money for not alot of a power increase. she doesnt want something fast , just faster than what she has. and its a 6 speed standard. do you know any websites for the vibrator.
There has got to be some chips and maybe programmers available for that car too.

I remember a few years ago that when you bought a Vibe, you could have the dealer put a blower on it for a grand plus installation costs. Maybe I'm wrong, because I certainly haven't looked around, but I'm pretty sure that you should be able to pick one up used or rebuilt for pretty cheap.
My mom was looking into one for a d.d. but since they didn't have the s/c on them on the lot, all she got to drive was a stocker... if my mother says it's slow...man, I don't even want to know what that means.
