Has anyone had a new rear quarter panel put on a Trans Am? I was rear-ended in my 01 and am now arguing w/the body shop over their welding job. When I open the passenger door, it looks like they sealed the welding w/a big wad of bubble gum then painted over it. It looks pretty rough. I don't know much about body work, but surely a better job can be done...? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

not yet anyways...i need a new one as well on the driver side....long story. But im interested if i could just find someone that can weld and 'do it myself ' with a new part you know, without taking it somewhere to save me some $.

i work in a body shop and this could be normal or a crap job. they seam seal everthing after they are donetomake sure no water gets in under the metal.if you want you can send me a pic of the job and i will tell you what i think.if it turns out to be a bad job they will have to fix it. youcan take your car to the insurance company and the will make sure they fix it. insurance companies willonly send your car to a shop that garentees the work so they dont have to pay to have it done twice. restorenotcrush@hotmail.com
