so my horn on my 99 ta doesnt work, i switched the relay with the fogs, no good. checked the fuse, fine. hit the panic button just lights flash. put the pos lead of the test light on the green from the relay and ground it with the black from the relay the horn sounds but is distorted. any guesses ? tomorrow i am gonna take a test light by the horns themselves.

I had a similar problem with my motorcycle, and the dealership replaced the horn. It worked great at first, but it started to act up again. Later, I found my motor mount bolt was about to come out and I noticed the ground wire for the horn went to that bolt. After I tightened up that bolt... it worked and hasn't faltered since. So, check your ground wire and the horn itself for any blockages. If everything is good, maybe the horn needs to be replaced.

More than likely, but I'm not sure. Best to check anyway.

ok so no horn. i tested the ground at the horn, ground is fine. but the green wire at the horn i could not seem to get any power from. now i ran a new wire from the green at the relay to the horn, still no power. but when i do the testlight with the pos on the green at the relay and the ground from the testlight to the black at the relay the horn sounds without anyone in the car hitting anything. i did notice when the horn did sound it wasnt really distorted but i think it was only the low horn sounding. now my question is if the high horn is dead will that make both not work ?? i am lost at this problem and its becoming a headache.

Check the green wire with your test light grounded to the body while someone presses the horn and see what happens. If it doesn't receive power, I'd assume the relay is bad. When you are connecting the test light to the relay on both sides, you are completing the circuit, which is bypassing the relay.

green wire has no power at the horn when i hit the horn. but like i said the foglights have the same relay part number and i interchanged them and the relay worked with the foglights.

I would ask a local dealership to look up the relay part number for your horn and make sure you have the correct one. If you do have the correct one, see if you can plug one in that they have and see if it works. Other than that, I am out of suggestions.
