could a high pressure oil pump cause your low oil light to turn on?

The low oil light is caused by having low oil. I am pretty sure that there is a sensor in the oil pan. So I am going to have to say no, it isn't the pump causing the light. Check your dipstick.

My low oil light comes on all the time whether I am full, quart over, or a quart under. There is a sensor in the oil pan and they go bad sometimes. Trust your dipstick.
