Took the Trans Am down to race last night.
Bandimere Raceway, Morrison, CO
5800 feet above sea level.

First pass...
Launched from right around 3700 RPM's and took off. Problem is, it was my first time hooking like that, and I got a little excited about it. Ended up launching hard and then smacking the clutch pulling it out of gear. Video of this is kinda funny. :yup:

Second pass...
Felt good out of the hole, but this time I was pussyfooting it. Trap speed is down because when I shifted into 4th it got loose. Backed off the throttle 50%.

Third pass...
Looking good. Still in the 1.8xx for short times though. She probably has an 11.6-11.7 in her when I get a good solid driveshaft under her.

Fourth pass...
Launch was nice on this one as well. But I went from 3500 RPM's and it bogged a touch. Came pretty close to pulling a tire. :yup:

None of these passes were full on balls to the wall. I was scared for my driveshaft. :yup:
I have much more footage than this, but this is all you get for now.

TSP 402
TSP 248/254 629/622 113
Patriot Stage III LS6 heads
FAST 90/90

Full weight, not the best short times yet. Learning the car all over again.
And the altitude is normally worth a full second.

This is my 12.0 pass.
Best sixty and trap on this one.
Bogs though...you can see the front come down a little.

Stock struts/shocks.
ProKit springs.
Ride is currently a little rough.

Probably holding me back a little outta the hole. Might be getting the revalves on it this winter.
Should have some V6 rear springs coming soon. Might help a little.
Going one more time this season to the track. Maybe an 11.7-11.8. Still learning the car....again. :yup:

Considering this car is mostly a street car, I am more than happy.

Congrats on your ET's, but why are you worried about your drive shaft?

Mr. Luos

Heard horror stories about guys breaking them.
Stock aluminum.

Then of course a local guy in the 10's still runs his stocker.

I think the drive shaft is about the only thing on my car I haven't changed or
ever worried about...nothing else in my drive train is original. I think you're much more likely to blow your rear end or burn out your clutch first unless you miss a shift...:bomb:

SPEC stage 5.
Moser 9"

Those are probably fine.

Was stock....until I broke my aftermarket torque arm in 2 pieces, the drive shaft could'nt handle the angle and ripped in half. :bomb:

Well...ran his stocker.
But even then, the driveshaft would have been good if it wasn't for the torque arm popping.

Launched from 4100 once...still bogged a touch. More learning. :yup:

I ripped my stock driveshaft in half launching between 5,000-6,000 and seen several others do the same.

Geez! If I launched at 5-6K I wouldn't go anywhere, I'd just sit there smoking my tires! ('Go up in smoke' is the expression and watch the other guy win)
But then you must be putting down a whole lot more horsepower than me AND
running some pretty big slicks!

Is that an LT1 motor you got in the back of that truck? Chevy orange, nice man. With the matching valve covers. You know GM Performance Parts makes a real nice set of raised centerbolt chrome valve covers with Chevrolet and a nice red Bowtie stamped in them. They are like 200 bucks though. I think they would look real good on that engine.

Is that the same engine you got in the Trans Am?
