Has anyone painted their own hood?

My new ram air hood just came in and it needs to be painted. My dad is pretty skilled with things like this but I don't think hes too experienced with body work on cars. Has anyone out there done this on their own?

I wouldn't.

But I'd assume you could do a good job if you knew how to paint automotive stuff (which I don't).

You have to have all that equipment too. And the pros usually use painting booths (I think) so no dust or anything gets on it....




Why, how much would it cost to have it done professionally?

well if you just want it sprayed most body shops will do it for around 150 or so, but if you want it actually look good then youll have to have them blend it into the fenders/bumper which will probably run around 300 or so. Its actually not to hard to paint your own car in your driveway or garage you just have to have the right equipment and know a little bit about painting.
