installing center caps

Help, can someone tell me how to replace the center caps on my 2002 ss. just got the 10 spoke chrome ss caps from slp. I thought I read that I need to pull the rims off of the car, but can't find the info.

when the wheels are off, you just push them from the inside and they pop-out.
I haven't tried removing them w/ the wheel mounted... but I guess you can try with some kind of crewdriver or something else that will allow leverage for them to pop... use a rag to avoid scratching, though.
