What size of tires should I put on 18x8 on the front and 18x9 on the rear? I'm guessing 245-40-18 on the front and 275-35-18 on the rear. Does this sound right?

get a 275/40/18 in the rear, 35s look way to thin imo, and 245/40/18 in the front

245/40-18 = 25.7" tall
275/40-18 = 26.7" tall
this will cause ABS and braking issues need to stay with 275/35-18 which is 25.7" tall. both the 245/40-18 and the 275/35-18 will have the same sidewall height as they are both 18" diameter and 25.7" tall.
sidewall height isn't just based on the middle number. not all 35 series tires have small sidewalls.

On the front lower the thickness to a 35, instead of a 40 for the front since you got 18's. The rear looks like a good size.

So what is the stock width for a 99 T/A's 16" rims?
And keeping the original tire height what is the widest tire i can get? keeping in mind that i want it to fit with out any bumping and scraping on both the front and rear tires to include when turning...
Also I am still having a hard time deciding what tire brand and type to get. Can I get a few opinions on this?
Car is a daily driver but want to be able to weekend warrior it at the strip.
ohh yea.. i want the to look cool too :snowboard:

if you do that and not change the width, the difference in heights will cause an ABS error which will affect your braking. wonderful little sticky i put up at the top http://69.42.146.24/forums/showthread.php?t=11359 shows tires that are of equal diameter.

i have the 255/50-16 tires all the way around on the wife's car before putting the C5 wheels on. they are 26" tall.

i got a pair of the same looking stock wheels and put some drag radials on when i hit the strip. then put the regular tires back on for everyday driving. makes the DRs last longer.
