Which repair manual?

I saw a Hayes LS1 Fbod manual at Autozone. Is it worth buying? Are there better ones?

The best one would be the GM Factory Service Manual.

However, they are rather expensive, I think they go for somewhere around ~$80.

The Hayes or Chilton's will work fine for General maintenance. If you want the best, get a service manual from GM. Expensive but very good. I have one and if you're going fully into doing it yourself, any piece of info you need will be in it

Hayes isn't worth the money and Chilton's is the next best buy unless you get a set of service manuals. I just bid and won a three (3) shop book set for $115.01 to the door on EBay. The Hayes really has crapy fuzzy print and is more toward engine disassembly/assembly. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Hayes manuals are very very basic. more like a reference guide. Chiltons are much more detailed and have wiring diagrams. its the better buy for the buck
