I have fitted an outside camera to the car also a microphone. No real reason for it, just a bit of fun while on car cruises etc...
Anyway, pulled out of a junction earlier change into 2nd at about 4500rpm and it sounds like a turbo discharging before I put it into second. I cant hear this sound inside the car, well not noticably. The microphone is just under/behind the left turn signal on a 2000 Trans-Am. Is this just the sound of the air being sucked into the air filter? A vacuum leak crossed my mind, but it pulls well, 383fwhp/393fwtq.

Cant post the URL as I havn't made 5 posts, but please copy and paste into your browser to watch the video.

Don't have time to go actually listen to the link, but I'm guessing that all you've got going on is a good induction system and longtubes, which will lead to between-shift "pshht" noises, sounds like a turbo with bass and muscle... Run open headers and other people will notice it too....

Thanks for the info. Never noticed it before as never revved my engine with my ear under the hood. From what youre saying it sounds like its pretty normal due to the mods I've done.

Open headers are on my list, well electornic exhaust cutouts

:iagree: sounds like induction sys and tubes. That camera is right around the air box right? so your going to hear it alot louder. sounds nice tho

For thouse who are interested in the camera this is more info on it:-
The camera is under the left turn signal. The microphone is there too, not too near the air box, just between the front wheel and the turn signal. The camera is an IP67 sealed security camera, about 1.5inches diamerter, has night vision too. It has a BNC composite output, I run this into a USB capture device with software on the laptop. The microphone is a cheap one for the PC, run that into the microphone port on the laptop, of course had to extend the lead.

When i said fwhp, I ment flywheel horse power. Its a rear wheel drive car (2000 Trans-Am)

The link should work, perhaps it was down at the time 'shady milkman' tried it.
