2--Pontiac U--Formula 87--2 door coupe W--301 cu.in. turbo V8

9--1979 N--built in Norwood, Ohio 178922-yours is the 78,921st built

basically whether it's rare or not will be depending on the transmission, interior/exterior color, or some wierd little option, otherwise it's not at all rare and the 301 turbo is a horrible engine, you can make it decent nowadays but it'll take money and alot of work, I do like these cars though, best of luck. maybe throw me some pics.

there were 211,454 built in 1979, So I'm going to go ahead and tell you the car isn't really rare, a nice one not concours or anything but a nice one can be had for between 7-4K, a concours restored or a really well done modded one can run about 9-15K hope this helps.

no problem, good call on the 400 though, the 301 wasn't all that bad, but there is no market for them upgrade/performance and the design was just a bad one.post some pics when you get a chance.

we figured out the car came with the 4bbl, and also it was a WS6 optioned Formula car, which is very rare to say the least
