I'd say take your transmission to a reputable shop and have it built. That way it can get fixed and beefed up at the same time, and it will save you the trouble of having to buy and swap everything for the 4L80E. Not to mention the 4L60 has better gear ratios than the 4L80. With a good build your 4L60 should last a long time.

4l80e would be really nice on a 800+hp car, where you normally would have to sacrifice OD and electronic control.
