Did engine covers come standard on corvettes? If so what years did they have them with the LS1?

Yes they came standard on the vettes. They came on 97-04 cars.

It's amazing how many people have no clue.. At car shows I will be near my car and hear someone say, now if that Camaro had a Corvette motor in it, it would really move. I always have to say they are the same motor and they look at me like I am stupid. I tried to make some of those covers out of a pair of vette ones, but I cut them up and decided to not use them. Seen some places now that make custom ones(not redone vette covers). Also JEGS has a Billet cover that goes on in seconds and is made for the F body, never seen it on a car though.

Would GTO or LS2 covers even fit under the cowl on fbodies? I think they look a whole lot better than corvette FRC's, but have never seen them on anything.

Start with the 1997-1998 style with two-slots on the driver's side.
So many people get suckered into buying the single slot covers, then find out they have to cut the second slot & it ends up looking like crap.

Those are the ones I went with. Worked great.. all I had to do was notch the pass side for the throttle cable bracket and then drill a hole for the dipstick to go thru.
