While the topic has been beat to death... I would greatly appreciate any input from all of you who have been there done that!!
2004 GTO M6 daily driver
ATI Procharger 8.0 PSI
JBA Shortie Headers
Goals
+ 40-50 RWHP
needs to be tunable for emissions
looking to significantly increase torque
1800-6500 power band
Here are the contendors I have come up with so far:
Futral f7 224"/230" .588"/.595" 114LSA 1800-6800
Comp Cams XR265HR 212/218 .558 /.563 115 LSA 1400-6700
Comp Cams XR275HR 224/224 .566/.568 112 LSA 1800-6800
Thunder Racing custom 220/230 to be determined 1800-6500
99-TR224/227-114 224/227* .563/.569 114 LSA 2200-6800
Lingenfelter GT2-3 207/220 .573/.580
I think the GT2-3 and comp XR265HR will come up a little short of my goals. A couple of vendors think a custom grind for my specific needs is the only way to go. Most likely this is the approach I will take...just looking for anyone who has gone this route and what their experiences were.
Thanks

I dont think much bigger than the 224/224 will pass emissions........this is also a good cam for under the band power increases and you should be able to meet the criteria you have stated above with a good tune provided that you have a good flowing exhaust(not stock)preferably LT headers/cat back. just my opinion fwiw.

I hear ya....My limitation imposed on myself are mostly due to the SMOG police here is CA. Although with a new car I have several years prior to an emissions test....at any time you are subject to a visual inspection should the cop feel like it. I wanted a D1 procharger but the P1 is pending CARB approval, and the JBA's although not ideal are 50 state "legal".
When I install a forged bottom end, then I will go with new heads, probably a bigger cam, high flow exhaust, up the boost to 12 psi or so and see what happens.
thanks all

My recommendation,
Comp Cams XR265HR 212/218 .558 /.563 115 LSA 1400-6700
BUT... change the LSA from 115 to 112, and install it straight up. More peak power and more mid-range torque.

Ed Curtis is working something up for me...will see what he comes up with. I have not heard anything bad about his work. On the contrary...several have had off the shelf cams for awhile, replaced them with one of his customs and had nothing but rave reviews.
