hello there,
my name is jack, this is my first post on here, sorry it has to be a problem
question!!
I am rebuilding my auto transmission (camaro z28 ls1 1998, 4l60e), got the valve body all stripped and cleaned,
going back together fine until i got to the 'converter clutch signal valve' as it calls it in the book, and it just doesn't match the pictures in the book at all, and it has a spring with it that doesn't seem to match up either. ( I have the atsg book for the 4l60e and the gm service manual)
I checked all the other valves and it doesn't match any of those either so I haven't mixed any up? now because it doesn't match the pictures I don't know which way around to install it, or which side to put the spring, I was stupid not to note how it came out ! :( . . . I thought it might be an upgrade part from a shift kit or something but I can't find any pics of the valves online to compare it to . . .
if I knew how to post a picture of it I would!

has anybody any idea what I'm talking about! . . and can you help please???

any help would be greatly appreciated . . thanks . . jack

hello . . . I took a guess at how it should fit and gears all seem to work,
I could do with a bit more gearbox pressure at wot though, is there a simple
way to do this or do I need to plug the computer in? . . anyways . .
I got it back on the street which is the main thing, I can go drivin now :) . . jaCK

The only way I know of is to computer tune it but I am sure there is another way.

the pressure control solenoid. it is on the back side of the valvebody. it has a tiny torx bit screw on it. one turn clockwise.

ohhh thanks for the tip, I am doing an oil change in about 60 miles so I'll
have a look at the solenoid while the pan is off :) . . thanks guys . .
I thought the computer would just turn the pressure back down if I turned it
up manually? . . I'll give it a try anyways . . .

do you know what kind of pressure I ought to be aiming for?

computer won't compensate for it. i'm just over 300 psi at WOT shifts.
