97 Z28 need some help

Ok, yet another problem with this car i just got.... Cruising down the road, and all the sudden the speedometer drops to 0. I thought ok the speedometer is broken, but oh no that wasn't all. I realized when i give it gas, it just revs, it doesnt accelerate. I stopped and took off again. It accelerated a little until it got up to about 10 mph (about 10; Cant tell; no speedo) then it just revved up more. This car is stressing me out. Its my dream car, but i'm not so sure it is anymore with all the problems... Does anyone know what it could be?

I'm changing the speed sensor right now.. the old one had a crack in it. I was told by a mechanic that someone had the same problem and it was just the speed sensor.. i pray to god that this is the only problem with mine. Anyways, i'll let yall know if that fixes it. peace.

Ok speed sensor didnt fix it... The reason i dont think its the transmission is because other than the time the speedometer and shit freaks out, it shifts fine.

Perhaps check the fluid? How long since its been changed? Does it do it after warmed up or when its cold? If it does it after the car warms up...then yeah, i'd say the tranny took a crap on you. If thats not the case, maybe the filter is getting clogged? Or the shifter is getting thrown out of gear? I dunno, just possiblities.

That's what I was going to say.......check your fluid, sounds like it might be low and it's not always building enough pressure to shift properly.

yeah i have that problem too. oh yeah never mind 383 stroker with 30lb injectors i dont think its the gages anymore. lead foot. for the real problem check the tranny fluid. and if your tranny is gone get it rebuilt right. about $1800 late and your be havins some fun. sory about the problems but get used to it or get rid of it. i kinda like problems sometimes. TIME TO MAKE SO MODS!!!
