What would be the contributing factors of strong gas vapors when vehicle parked in garage?
How does one know when the fuel pressure regulator has served it's time?
Being I have (2) '99 Firebirds with the same issue and one at 55K one at 71K it would seem odd a "worn" fuel pressure regulator would cause such.
No visual leaks, smell originates from underhood area.:seesaw:

Light a match under the hood to check if the vapors are flameable... LOL! SERIOUSLY DONT, i would check the fittings where the fuel lines connect to the fuel rail, also i would check around the fuel filter. Did you have a blowout or anything get caught up in the drivers side fender well? the fuel lines are behind the plastic cover... would check it all out, dont drive the car with a leak or smell of gas...:yup:
