I was waxing the batmobile today and i noticed that my bumper is really REALLY floppy in the middle; from the liscencse plate out toward the exhaust ports. I'm wondering if i'm missing a brace or that's just "how they are"

there are clips that hold the bumper on the bottom. Mine was kinda loose and I noticed that some of the clips weren't snapped in. I know there are two in the center under the plate and one under each exhaust pipe.

there are 3 clips that are basically pushpins. Behind the bumper is a plastic honeycomb plastic support. Most likely it's just the pins are missing

:yup: It's not uncommon for those clips to wear out and break over time so you've just got to get under there and look but to answer your question, no, it should not be that loose.

if you guys want i can show you a mod that i did, i took a sheet of aluminum and made a pan that screws into the very edge of the bumper (underneath) and then using shorty meatal screws i screwed the other end into the heat shield of the gas tank. makes the bumper straght and no flapping it also looks good and lets the air out from under the car smoother.

it was not hard to make i belive it was 24 x 28 i gave a 1 inch lipto attach to the rear bumper and no it dont rattle! use a cardboard template with corogation use the coro fluts to find the bend point you need on the template.

ha you guys answered a question I had about my own car... i went out right now and took a look.. sure enough.. all but 1 of the 4 pin/clips are off.. time to go to the dealer for some of those.. plus 2 headlight motors.. plus 2 window motors... plus window motors for the GTP...
time to just fork over the dough i guess...

Yeah, i found my problem: my pins were there, just not holding the bumper. Some retard must have put the pins in first, not really thinking they did anything then put the bumper on. Reminds me of someone's avatar here: it says "GM quality control" and the GM logo is upside-down
