My 2002 ws6 has got 6100 miles on it and needless to say the battery is gone on it. I have had it recharged but that only lasted about three weeks so time to get a new one.

Any suggestions?
Everyone says Optima......but I heard good things about the interstate.

Red Optima's are good batteries. I run the Yellow Top.

I run a Yellow top as well because I have a sound system. I ran the red top as well, great if you don't run a system

Well that sucks that it went out so quick. Depending on your plans, you may consider just going AC Delco since the car has such low miles. Unless its your DD and you could care less about it being collectable in that way later on.

On a side note, you said charging it fixed it for 3 weeks. Did you check all the connections and also your Alternator output?

Ed knows, I have been nothing but happy with my red top Optima, kinda pricy but well worth it in my opinion.

If you don't drive the car that much then a red top Optima is perfect-they don't get sulphated from sitting around unused like a conventional battery will. In other words they will last much longer for your purposes-I have a couple of vehicles that don't get driven much and that's what I have in them.

I have a gel battery and I have never had problems. It is a gel battery because the ions are made out of gel. The battery never looses power and it looks cool. The only thing is the price it runs to about $200.
